Dec 27, 2011 at 02:35 pm by Bryan Barrett

The Freeman family from Smyrna has been through a lot over the past several years. Now, Frank Freeman and his family are going through the unimaginable. A former teacher and football coach at Smyrna High School, Frank Freeman has been dealing with cancer for the past couple of years. Now the family is mourning the loss of their 15-year old son, Joseph "JoJo" Freeman, who died in his sleep Christmas Eve. The Freeman's were forced to move to North Carolina last year to live with Frank's parents, while he battles melanoma that has him bound to a wheelchair.

Family and friends raised enough money to bring JoJo back home for burial this week. A funeral service has been sceduled for Friday at 1:00 at the Life Point Church in Smyrna. Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna are in charge of Friday's arraingments.
