(MURFREESBORO) The Heart of Tennessee Chapter of the American Red Cross has been busy helping persons with high water problems.

Executive Director Kathy Ferrell said that the local chapter had three shelters in operation during the past several days to help victims of the high water.

The Red Cross shelters were located at:

• Shelter opened in Bedford County at Fairhaven Baptist Church on Saturday afternoon.
• Shelter opened in Coffee County at College Street Elementary School on Saturday afternoon.
• Shelter opened in Rutherford County at Highland Heights Church of Christ in Smyrna late Saturday evening.

Ferrell noted, "We were able to close all three shelters Sunday morning. Residents in impacted areas had safety nets of support and did not need to utilize the shelters. At that point, We transitioned to Damage Assessment."
