The Smyrna Parks and Recreation Department have announced the recipient of the 2011 Kenneth “Coon” Victory Lifetime Service Award. The winner of the award is Robert “Bud” Raikes. Raikes and volunteers from several local non-profits will be honored during a special banquet on February 17th. The banquet will be held at the Smyrna Town Center. Raikes was chosen to receive the award because of his years of community service and volunteerism. Raikes retired from Smyrna High School in 2011 where he was the principal.
