The 247th Session of the National Academy consisted of men and women from 49 states, the District of Columbia, 25 international countries, three U.S. military organizations, and six (6) civilian federal organizations.

Internationally known for its academic excellence, the National Academy Program, held at the FBI Academy, offers eleven (11) weeks of advanced investigative, management, and fitness training for selected officers having proven records as professionals within their agencies.

Training for the program is provided by the FBI Academy instructional staff, Special Agents, and other staff members holding advanced degrees, many of whom are recognized internationally in their fields of expertise.

According to the FBI, a total of 45,297 graduates now represent the FBI National Academy since it began in 1935. Of this number, approximately 27,785 are still active in law enforcement today.
Lt. Sykes is the supervisor over the Criminal Investigations Division General Detective Section and is responsible for the daily operation of that unit.

Joining in congratulations on Lt. Sykes’s graduation are the other FBI National Academy graduates at the Murfreesboro Police Department: Chief of Police Glenn Chrisman, Assistant Chief Roy Fields, Major Anita Flagg, Major Clyde Adkison, Sergeant Amy Dean, and Officer Ray Daniel.
