A 75-year-old man in Murfreesboro has been arrested and charged with the rape of a child.

According to police, Angelito Paredes was apprehended on June 23rd. The arrest came after an investigation into the child sex abuse allegations. The 10-year-old victim had disclosed inappropriate sexual activity that had allegedly occurred over the past year. During the course of the investigation, Paredes was developed as a suspect.

The MPD Special Victims Unit interviewed the 75-year-old suspect at the police department and the end result of the interview equaled handcuffs and rape of a child charges. As of Monday, July 1, 2019 - Paredes was still behind bars at the local jail unable to make bond.
