In nearby Antioch, a baby was killed during an apartment fire early Sunday morning. The fire broke out at 2 AM in the Hickory Lake Apartments. Reports indicate that 5 children were also injured in the blaze.

The baby that was killed was only 8 months old. Furthermore, 23-month-old toddler is currently listed as being in critical condition, as of Monday afternoon.

An arson investigator reported that the fire likely started from a burning candle that was left in the corner of the room where the baby was found by firemen.

It is believed the parents were at a nightclub when the accident happened. The two mothers of the children told police a babysitter was supposed to be at the apartment, but there was not one when authorities arrived.
