(MURFREESBORO) Murfreesboro Police need your help in identifying a suspect who allegedly used $4,000 of counterfeit money to purchase a 2006 Audi Quattro.
Police report that shortly before 4:00 o'clock Tuesday afternoon (7/30/2019) the owner of the vehicle met the buyer in the gas station parking lot of Walmart Neighborhood Market on Fortress Boulevard.
The seller told Detective Tyler Smith that the buyer looked over the vehicle and decided to accept the offer. He handed over the cash, was given the keys. The suspect drove away.
It was not until after the suspect had left, that the seller realized the money was counterfeit.
