Rutherford County Property Assessor Rob Mitchell has announced that for the 8th consecutive year, the local Property Assessor's Office has returned a double digit percentage of their annual budget back to the general fund of Rutherford County.

The percentage of return this year was 13.07% of their total budget.

This year they returned $317,356 of your tax dollars back to the county general fund.

Over the last 7 years $2,525,260 dollars has been returned.

Mitchell said that the assessors office is working more efficiently than ever and was awarded the Excellence in Administration Award by the Tennessee Association of Assessing Officers for 2018 in recognition of their achievements.

While the appraised values of real-estate in Rutherford County has surged to well over 33 billion dollars; Mitchell said that his department continues to find ways to do more with less via investment in technology and training of employees.
