(SMYRNA, TN) At 4:46PM Saturday (8/17/2019) afternoon, Smyrna Police closed the Old Nashville Highway between Hazelwood and Branford Drives due to a serious motorcycle vs vehicle collision.

Officer Connie Pegram told WGNS, "A vehicle turned left in front of a motorcycle causing the T-bone type of crash to occur. The driver of the vehicle was arrested and charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and leaving the scene of an accident."

The driver of the motorcycle was transported to Stonecrest Medical Center, and then taken by LifeFlight helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center."
