Saint Thomas Medical Partners (STMP) is honored to accept a $10,000 grant from National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. (NBCF). This award will fund biopsies and diagnostic mammograms and ultrasounds for low-income Middle Tennessee women.

A more exhaustive type of breast exam than a traditional screening mammogram, diagnostic mammograms and ultrasounds provide detailed insight into breast health and are recommended when suspicious findings occur in screening mammograms. STMP and NBCF share a mission of making biopsies and diagnostic mammograms and ultrasounds accessible for uninsured and underinsured women with the goals of early detection and mitigation of breast cancer. Awarded August 2, the grant will make these diagnostic tools free for qualifying patients at the following locations: Saint Thomas Medical Partners - Antioch; Saint Thomas Medical Partners - Lenox Village; Holy Family Health Center in Nashville; and Saint Louise Medicine and Family Health Center in Murfreesboro.

For 14 years, NBCF has attained Charity Navigator's highest ratings for financial accountability and transparency.
