UPDATE: Rutherford County Landfill - 8 Year Lifespan

The Middle Point Landfill in Walter Hill has hired a new general manager. Jeremy Jernigan, who was recently brought in to oversee the landfill, gave WGNS a better idea of when the landfill will likely close.

While local government officials are working to figure out what to do with waste with the landfill is full, Republic Services has not proposed any concrete proposals at this point, even though they operate the site.
