Aggravated Robbery Under Investigation in Murfreesboro

An aggravated robbery is under investigation in Murfreesboro. The reported holdup took place last week (10/18/19) at a small store across the street from Smith Brothers Car Wash on Memorial Boulevard.

The store clerk told police a man entered the store while wearing a ski mask and armed with a "long gun" demanding money out of the cash register. The subject was described as a black male standing 6-foot 2-inches and weighing around 300 pounds. The man was wearing a black hoodie, black sweatpants and a black ski mask.

After the victim gave the man about $300 out of the cash register, the robber told the clerk to empty his pockets. The employee pulled out his wallet and then handed the subject the one and only dollar he had.

After gathering money, the robber left the store on foot. The man was later caught and charged with additional robberies in Murfreesboro as well.

The final heist apparently did Longmire in. Officers spotted a subject nearby who matched the description given by the clerk. When they detained him, police found a BB gun that looked like a shotgun. The suspect was identified as Mark Longmire, Jr.

The stores robbed included:

• Mapco Mart BP 1320 Memorial Blvd On 10/11/19 at approximately 12:49 a.m., a man entered the business and robbed it at gunpoint before fleeing the scene.

• Mapco Mart 1415 Memorial Blvd On 10/18/19 around 1:48 a.m., a man wearing all black entered the store with a shotgun demanding money from the cash register and safe and cigarettes. He got away with several hundred dollars and several packs of Newport cigarettes.

• Smoke Vape & Pipe 1004 Memorial Blvd On 10/18/19 around 11:00 p.m., the clerk told police a man wearing a black hoodie and ski mask, pointing a shotgun demanding money from the cash register and the victim's pockets. The clerk cooperated and the suspect fled the scene on foot.

• Mapco Mart BP 1320 Memorial Blvd On 10/19/19 at approximately 1:57 a.m., the clerk stated a man wearing black hoodie and black covering his face, brandishing a shotgun, entered the store demanding money.

• Murfreesboro Police Chief Michael Bowen said, "As of this time we are able to solve at least four robberies with this one arrest. I am thankful for the hard work and investigative efforts by our officers in identifying and arresting this suspect."

Longmire is charged with four counts of Aggravated Robbery and one count of Aggravated Kidnapping. He is scheduled to appear in Rutherford County General Sessions Court November 21, 2019. His total bond was set at $45,000.
