Annual Polar Bear Plunge this weekend in Murfreesboro

Dec 30, 2019 at 07:23 pm by Bryan Barrett

The annual Polar Bear Plunge will be here before you know it!

The outdoor swim in the frigid SportsCom pool will take place this coming Saturday in Murfreesboro. The plunge is scheduled to start at precisely 10 in the morning on January 4, 2020.

As always, paramedics and fire crews will be on hand in case the water is too cold for some swimmers.

Speaking of too cold, if you can't brave the outdoor "Boro Beach," the SportsCom indoor pool will be open for swimmers who want to take a dip, but not outdoors.

To be a part of the Polar Bear Plunge this Saturday, bring one non-perishable food item. The food collected will go to local non profit Greenhouse Ministries to hand out to the less fortunate in our community. While the swim is scheduled for 10AM, activities for adults and children will begin at 8:30 that morning.
