Jan 10, 2020 at 06:56 am by Bryan Barrett

Early bird registration for the annual Special Kids Race is quickly approaching. The early bird deadline is January 15th.

On Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Murfreesboro Medical Clinic, Special Kids is planning for 3,000 participants in the 15K, 10K, 5K and 1-Mile Family Fun Run.

The event welcomes all levels of participants and encourages the whole family to get involved.

While the goal is to promote health and fitness within the community, the heart of the Special Kids Race remains to raise money for children with special needs.

Special Kids is a Christian therapy and nursing center for children with special needs. Since opening the doors in 1998 in Murfreesboro, TN with just one child, the non-profit organization has served over 5,000 children from 19 different counties in middle Tennessee.

Special Kids offers physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, feeding therapy, nursing services, recreational therapy, a peer-modeling program, and a summer day camp called Camp Ability. They serve children with special needs ages birth to 21-years old.

The Special Kids Race will start at Murfreesboro Medical Clinic (1272 Garrison Drive, Murfreesboro, TN 37129) and travel through Stones River Battlefield. The 1-Mile distance loops behind MMC to Old Nashville Hwy and back to the start/finish line.
