WGNS is bringing back what was a standard practice for radio and television stations.
The tradition of playing the national anthem to start and end the broadcast day on stations became less common with the prevalence of 24/7 broadcasting.
VERBATIM: "The national anthem is often done at local events, like ballgames. And it was such a staple for broadcast stations for years. Just because we offer 24/7 programming, it doesn't mean we can't take one-minute to reflect on what a great country we are blessed to live in."
WGNS is excited about bringing back this American tradition to listeners.
