FirstBank, like many businesses, is having to take a step back to evaluate how business is conducted in times of crisis. An email sent to FirstBank customers on Wednesday stated, "Effective Thursday, March 19, 2020 we will be temporarily suspending our branch lobby hours and remain open as drive thru only until further notice."

The change comes under recommendations from health and government officials. FirstBank says they will reopen their branch lobbies once it is safe to do so.

Pinnacle Financial Partners is also having to make changes. A statement released earlier this week confirmed that they too will only operate drive-thru banking as opposed to their lobbies being open to customers, "As of Wednesday, March 18, we will provide drive-thru service only at all of our locations, as recommended by the CDC social distancing guidance."

COVID-19 has also changed regular operations for Wilson Bank & Trust. As a precaution against the spread of the coronavirus, the local bank will also restrict lobby visitis. According to Wilson Bank & Trust, "As of Thursday, March 19, we will be offering drive-thru service only at our offices, based on recommendations from the CDC and the Tennessee Department of Health."

Still, some banks are maintaining their lobby hours while keeping up to date with changes provided by the CDC and other state and federal agencies.

First National Bank's branches are open, but they are encouraging the use of digital products and the use of their drive up windows - all to limit human contact. First Horizon, formerly First Tennessee Bank, is also keeping their lobby open at this time.
