The Saint Thomas Rutherford Foundation continues to strive forward during the unfolding of the COVID-19 pandemic. The foundation reports it is "steadfast in its commitment to our community's most vulnerable populations, as well as our own associates, who have been impacted by recent events."
The non-profit provides mission-based services due to support received by residents in Rutherford County.
Currently, Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford and the Saint Thomas Rutherford Foundation are actively planning on special accommodations to support those first responders on their team - the nurses, caregivers, food service workers and environmental service technicians who may need an added measure of support during these challenging times.
The Saint Thomas Rutherford Foundation was founded in 1984. As the organization faces these unprecedented times they remain thankful for the gratitude of the community who have helped create this charitable extension of Saint Thomas Rutherford, according to the foundation Director Gina DeJean. She also told supporters in an email that the group provides the infrastructure, resources and loving spirit to respond to the very real needs of those who are most vulnerable.
