The Knoxville, Expo Center has 80,000 square feet of what is normally labeled "Exhibit Space" that will be converted into a hospital type setting over the next three weeks.
The Chattanooga Convention Center will also serve as a COVID positive Alternate Healthcare facility.
In Memphis, Gateway Shopping Center will be transformed into a patient care facility while additional sites in Shelby County are being actively assessed to ensure capacity as Memphis is considered a hotspot.
The goal is to have 7,000 additional hospital beds in the Volunteer state. Additional facilities are being looked into for more temporary hospital bed space at this time.
