After careful consideration, and in light of the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) developments, non-profit Doors of Hope has decided to postpone their second annual Fairway to Hope golf tournament. The organization reports that rescheduling the event will allow them to make sure all participants are safe and have a great time.

The local Doors of Hope program started in 2011 at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. It is a re-entry initiative for the incarcerated and those being released from incarceration.

Having started as a teaching endeavor in the Rutherford County Correctional Work Center with 12 students, one unpaid teacher and 4 volunteers, the agency has expanded services to include 5-days a week education and transition planning in each of Rutherford County's correctional facilities.

Doors of Hope offers a re-entry to society program that lasts for up to 120 days. Students, who are non-violent offenders, learn about personal values, responsibility, and practical life skills for life after prison.
