James Price, Regional Manager of the BBB of Middle Tennessee, told WGNS that multiple scammers are using the COVID-19 Pandemic to their favor. The biggest scams target the idea of phony cures to the coronavirus and fake companies selling face masks. But, the list doesn't stop there. There are also scams involving the stimulus money that is being prepared...

Scam Description from Victim:

I have received 3 text messages this week about an Emergency Fund: "ready to view emergency funds? press ok process" or "reply yes to process" these texts claim that i qualify for between $5000 and $30000 in emergency relief funds. They came from random phone numbers i have never seen. (470) 264 -6859, (425) 230-6301, (607) 214-2863

Scam Description from Victim:

This company is claiming to sell N95 masks to protect against COVID-19. They never provide shipping or tracking information. All they do when you email them is out you off with lies about having website problems or shipping issues. Upon further research on the company Facebook page it's obvious they were a fake company.

Scam Description from Victim:

I purchased masks on 02/28/2020 for 61.87 and I am now getting emails they are behind and don't know when they will be sent. I would like my money back. Product_Or_Service: masks Order_Number: ******
