Commissioner Keith Bratcher announces re-election bid for Highway Commission

Murfreesboro, TN-- Highway Commissioner Keith Bratcher announced today that he will seek re-election as Rutherford County Highway Commissioner serving Zone 2 (Commission Zones 1-3) in the upcoming August 6th County General election.

Bratcher offers decades of experience in public service and county government having served four terms as Highway Commissioner, over three decades as a fireman with Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Department from June of 1985 until July of 2018 when he retired with the ranking of captain, as well as having served on various Rutherford County boards including the Rutherford County Board of Zoning and Appeals.

"I am running to continue offering the unparalleled experience that the Rutherford County taxpayers deserve. I pledge to continue utilizing my unmatched experience and dedication to public service to maintain and expand upon the accomplishments we've achieved," Bratcher said. "The voters have faithfully placed their trust in me for the past 18 years allowing me the honor and privilege of serving Rutherford county by improving our roads and bridges in order to create and sustain safe transportation infrastructure for all of our residents, current and future. As Commissioner I will continue working with fellow Commissioners and Superintendent Brooks to ensure our infrastructure remains amongst the best in Tennessee while also continuing to operate with a balanced budget "


Bratcher also touted the endorsement of Superintendent Greg Brooks who said "Keith has been an effective member of the Rutherford County Road Board with a dedicated commitment to keeping our roads and bridges safe and reliable amidst the high growth we're experiencing. Superintendent Greg Brooks continued by saying Keith has also proven to be a fellow conservative leader by working with myself and his fellow board members to pass a balanced budget each year I've been serving as Superintendent. I hope all will join me in supporting his re-election efforts as we have much work to continue, together." - Rutherford County Highway Superintendent Greg Brooks.

District 2 on the Rutherford County Highway Commission consists of county commission zones 1, 2 & 3. All candidates for this position are required to run as independents. Early voting will be held July 17th - August 1st. Election Day is August 6th.
