The Citizens Commission on Human Rights, a Mental Health Industry Watchdog, responsible for helping enact more than 180 worldwide reforms that protect the public from abuses committed under the guise of mental health - reports that "6.7 million children being prescribed powerful mind altering drugs in the US alone"
One of the key areas the organization continues to investigate and document is how many children are on multiple and powerful mind altering legally prescribed drugs. "What we've found was startling as psychotropic drugs prescribed to children carry 409 international drug regulatory agency warnings for causing severe side effects, yet if we just take Anti-Anxiety drugs, such as Ativan, there are more than 305,000 U.S. children aged 0 to 5 on just these drugs alone," according to information the CCHR sent to WGNS NEWS in an email on Monday. They report the drugs have effects such as hallucinations, delusional thinking, confusions, aggression, violence, hostility, agitation, irritability, depression and suicidal thinking. Sandra McNown (Director of Public Activities, CCHR) wrote, "This is what the children today are dealing with."
Public Affairs Director, Mr. Fred Shaw Jr. Highlighted the below points:
  • Anti-Anxiety drugs are being prescribed to over 305,000 0-5 year old children - What's wrong with this picture?
  • Are there any medical tests in existence that can prove ADHD or any diagnosis of childhood mental disorder is a legitimate medical condition, particularly one meriting the use of mind-altering and dangerous drugs?
  • Why are childhood behaviors being renamed mental disorders?
  • What are parent's rights and what can be done about it.

Mr. Fred Shaw has well over 25 years of experience as a human rights advocate. He's a former Los Angeles County Sheriff Deputy and now activist, and ordained minister, traveling throughout the US and South Africa delivering seminars, speeches and radio shows to a variety of community, church, civic and legislative groups, reaching over 1 million people. Mr. Shaw is currently CCHR's Director of Public Affairs and Executive Director of the NAACP Inglewood South Bay branch and lends his powerful voice in defense of children and people around the world, and continues to lead CCHR psychiatric marches against the American Psychiatric Association, (including the recent march against the APA's convention in 2016 in Atlanta, Georgia - which drew international attention to the Electroshocking of Children).
