(MURFREESBORO) Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department announces that the DOG PARKS re-open Saturday (5/16/2020) and the indoor pool at SportsCOM opens Tuesday (5/19/2020) for water exercise classes only.

Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department Director Nate Williams told NewsRadio WGNS, "Based on updated state reopening guidelines from Governor Lee, the opening of the dog parks will include strict sanitizing and physical distancing protocols in place."

The two dog parks are located at the General Bragg Trailhead (W. College Street) as well as the one in the Cason Trial head.

Williams noted that the indoor pool at SportsCom would be available only for organized activities such as lap swim and water exercise classes. Open water swimming will not be permitted.

The indoor pool at Patterson Park Community Center remains closed while the dehumidification unit is being replaced.
