Meet the Smokin' Buttz Team John and Mylica Cathey their story is one of pride and accomplishment. The couple started Smokin' Buttz in 2013. John started at the age of 13 cooking in the family restaurant with his dad. John has become familiar with the craft of smoking meat and is now known as the Pitmaster.

You may have followed the smoke around town and seen Smokin' Buttz serving their delicious BBQ out of their food truck. They were also voted Rutherford County's favorite food truck in 2017 and 2019. You can catch folks snapping selfies at the truck because of the fascination with their slogan "BBQ so Good PIGS ARE DYING to GET SMOKED!!!

In January 2020, the couple expanded their business to brick and mortar location inside of Kroger located at 4432 Veterans Pkwy. They are open Tuesday through Thursday from 11am to 7pm

Meats are smoked daily, and homemade sides are made daily. John has also created his own Big Jr's Smokin' Buttz Sauce and Big Jr's Smokin White Sauce. John states that he created flavor to his sauces that everyone could enjoy. Their sauce is available on the food truck, in the store, on their website and Amazon for purchase. John shares their story with WGNS's very own Nick Cohn in the link below.
