Volunteer Fire Departments in our community were hit hard by the COVID-19 Pandemic, but they are now allowed to re-start their many training programs.

Despite the social distancing requirements during the coronavirus, volunteer departments were still serving the community...



That was Kittrell Volunteer Fire Department Chief John Donnell. He told WGNS that not only did COVID-19 have an impact on their department, but also the May 3rd storms...



Kittrell has resumed their Country Ham Breakfast and the next one is scheduled for Saturday, June 20th from 6AM to 10AM.

Chief Donnell said the costs of maintaining a volunteer fire department is not cheap...



The ham breakfast helps to fund many of the day to day needs of the Kittrell Volunteer Fire Department.
