Nissan is recalling one-point-nine-million Altimas for a latch issue that could cause the hood to fly open.
The recall includes vehicles manufactured in Smyrna and the Canton, Mississippi, plants between 2013 and 2018. The 2013 to 2015 models have been under recall and this adds 2016 to 2018 models.
Nissan reports 16 crashes - all minor - involving the hood flying open on Altimas. Owners of vehicles in the recalled model years should expect a letter from the company sometime in June.
