The numbers show that unemployment claims continue to go down as we come to what maybe an end in the COVID-19 Pandemic, at least an end to the problems of the jobless rate this summer.
According to the state of Tennessee, 19,925 new jobless claims were filed by the end of the past week, which closed out on June 13, 2020. The number of continued claims also dropped with 280,593 at the close of the past week.
Since the start of the COVID Crisis, just over 300,000 unemployment claims have been approved and paid at a rate of $291 million. Payments were paid through the Coronavirus Relief Fund.
