COVID-19 Jobless Claims UPDATE for TN

The numbers show that unemployment claims continue to go down as we come to what maybe an end in the COVID-19 Pandemic, at least an end to the problems of the jobless rate this summer.

According to the state of Tennessee, 19,925 new jobless claims were filed by the end of the past week, which closed out on June 13, 2020. The number of continued claims also dropped with 280,593 at the close of the past week.

During the previously recorded week ending on June 6th, a total of 21,417 new unemployment claims were filed in the state. The week before, ending on May 30th, saw 22,784 new jobless claims in the Volunteer State.

Since the start of the COVID Crisis, just over 300,000 unemployment claims have been approved and paid at a rate of $291 million. Payments were paid through the Coronavirus Relief Fund.
