The Middle Tennessee Electric Vice President of Information Systems has been arrested in Murfreesboro after an investigation by the Murfreesboro Police Special Victims Unit.

According to an arrest report filed by Detective Tommy Roberts, a February Department of Children Services referral is what led to police investigating 51-year-old Dane Appalsammy.

Detective Roberts wrote, "[The] Investigation showed that some of the sex abuse involved a [child], approximately 9 years of age."

This month, Appalsammy was indicted by a Rutherford County Grand Jury on 3 counts of Aggravated Sexual Battery, Solicitation of a Minor and 3 counts of Rape of a Child. He was taken into custody on Monday (6/22/2020) and bonded out the very same day.

The next stop for Appalsammy will be in court, although a date has not been announced.

Attorney Charles Ward is representing Appalsammy. In a statement, he said, "Under the Constitution of the United States of America, he (Appalsammy) is presumed innocent until proven guilty. I look forward to moving this case forward to its proper conclusion, as my client is innocent of any charges."
