Alpha Delta Pi-athlon: A Unique Triathlon Challenge

The women of the Epsilon Tau Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority at Middle Tennessee State University will sponsor the 4th Annual “Alpha Delta Pi-athlon: A Unique Triathlon Challenge” on Sunday, April 1st, 2012. This triathlon challenge is unique to the Middle Tennessee area and will include a 300 meter swim, a 10 mile bike ride, and a 5K run (3.14 miles). Race Day Events will provide chip timing this year.

The swim portion of the event will take place at MTSU's Rec Center. The bike ride will start and end on campus, but the majority of the ride will take place off campus. The 5K run will be on campus. Both the biking and running courses are flat and fast and excellent for first time tri-athletes or those wanting to improve their time. Awards will be given to the top male and female participants as well as top three in each age group. Door prizes will also be awarded.

All participants who pre-register through March 28th will receive an event T-shirt, and T-shirts will be first come, first serve for those registering on the day of the event. The entry is $40 individual through March 28th and $50 on the day of the event, and $60 for team through March 28th and $75 on the day of the event. There is a student/faculty discount of $30 individual until March 28th and $40 on the day of the event. Proceeds benefit the Nashville Ronald McDonald House, scholarship funding for MTSU students through Alpha Delta Pi's Scholarship Program, and other Alpha Delta Pi Foundation Philanthropy Programs. Pre-registration is available at www.active.com, key word pi-athlon, and day-of registration will begin at 6:30 AM on April 1st at MTSU’s Rec Center.
