This is James Evans again with Rutherford County Schools.  We need to let you know that all YMCA Fun Company afterschool locations will be closing today at 2 p.m. Again, all YMCA Fun Company locations will be closing today at 2 p.m. and all students in those programs need to be picked up by that time.  This is necessary because there is a high potential for damaging severe weather, and we don’t want students left in the schools. I want to clarify that all county schools are closing 2 hours early today. Some of the news channels have released inaccurate information about when we are closing. So just to be clear, we are closing 2 hours early. Parents are more than welcome to pick up their children early today and it will not be counted against their attendance record. We understand closing early can be inconvenient for parents, but we do appreciate everyone working together today to ensure the safety of our students. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
