Storms Spare Rutherford Co, Not State

While Rutherford County was spared from the worst of the early March tornado outbreak, parts of the state felt Mother Nature's wrath. While there were no deaths, at last 29 were injured in Friday's storms. Most of the damage was in the Cumberland Plateau area and southeast Tennessee, down toward Chattanooga. A total of 75 tornado warnings were issued with several tornadoes from the storm system that affected at least 10 states. There were 95 reports of tornadoes Friday from Ohio to Mississippi and more than 400 hail and 200 wind damage reports.
