It wouldn't be Blackman Blaze boys basketball without end of the game drama. With one-point-five seconds on the clock, a Bradley Central player was called for a technical foul. With the Triple-A Boys Sectional Tournament game tied, Blackman junior Darius Thompson went to the free throw line...

Bryan Barrett with the call. The Blaze defense held Bradley Central to only 13-points in the second half. Blackman will play in the Blue Cross Basketball Championships next week.

Both La Vergne and Middle Tennessee Christian were looking for their first trip to the state, but their bids fell short. Ooltewah beat La Vergne 69-55 while MTCS lost at Perry County 72-52.

By the way, coming up Wednesday, the Riverdale girls will play Mt. Juliet in the girls state tournament. Bryan will be joined by Jon Dinkins for the action. State Farm Prep Basketball coverage begins around 5:15, with a 5:30 scheduled tipoff from MTSU's Murphy Center.
