The Murfreesboro planning commission will meet on Wednesday night at 7 in the city hall. Commissioners will learn of a landowner’s plan to request a zoning change on a parcel of land next to Riverdale High School. Reports indicate the land, some 97-acres along Warrior Drive, was granted a zoning change in 2001 when the owner of the property sought to open a golf driving range. Those plans fell through and now the owner wants the property zoned commercial highway. Right now the land is zoned as planned commercial development. No word on what the land owner wants to accomplish if the zoning change is approved.
