La Vergne Robbery Suspect Detained

A suspect has been arrested in connection with the February 18th armed robbery of Jimmy’s Tobacco Market, located at 400 Old Nashville Highway in LaVergne. The 17-year old female suspect was identified during the investigation and when she was questioned by detectives, she confessed to the armed robbery.

During the robbery, $70 was taken. Because the suspect is a juvenile, her name will not be released.

“The school resource officers helped us tremendously during the investigation,” said Detective Konrad Kaul. “Additionally, a search warrant was executed on the house and we recovered the pistol grip shotgun used in the robbery.”

The suspect is charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated assault. She is currently in custody and will face a court hearing Wednesday, March 7th at 2:30 p.m. at the Rutherford County Juvenile Detention Center.
