Horse Soring Meeting in Murfreesboro

Mar 07, 2012 at 06:04 am by bryan

The USDA will hold a special meeting in Murfreesboro this April to get public feedback on issues surrounding the walking horse industry.  The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service's (APHIS) Animal Care Program of the USDA will hold the meeting on April 4 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel on  Old Fort Parkway. The USDA is interested in discovering ways to end the inhumane treatment of soring walking horses. Another question that will be asked is “what can the USDA do now (and in the future) to ensure compliance?” Again, the meeting is on April 4 at the Doubletree Hotel.
