Government Surplus Up For Bids In La Vergne, TN

Mar 23, 2012 at 02:49 pm by bryan

The old saying "their trash is your treasure" might hold true with the City of La Vergne. Assistant City Administrator Bruce Richardson said, "In order to get rid of surplus items, we have to do it by auction.” Right now, e-bids are being made at www.GovDeals.com. He noted that the highest bidder will win unless the auction reserve has not been met.

The City of La Vergne has several items on the block, including: a Textron EZ-GO gas powered golf cart, a John Deer 855 4-wheel drive mower, a Toro Reelmaster 3100D mower, a Groommaster, a 1988 GMC Sierra C/K2500 truck with 168,769 miles, a portable batting cage, several tillers, boxes of books and tape cases, two split unit heat pumps, 19 pairs of headphones, lunar and office chairs, power tools, and sulfide testers.  Not all the equipment is operational, but the auction indicates the conditions of the items, sold as is, where is.
