Driven by growth and positioning personnel for the future, First National Bank has promoted and named Tom Vance as its new Vice Chairman and Randy Fletcher as President.

The two top level promotions came as the bank’s board of directors also announced a number other advancements, including naming Pieter van Vuuren as Executive Vice President and Stacy Vincent of the Murfreesboro branch to Assistant Vice President and Loan Officer.

Vance, a Murfreesboro native, will spend more time on strategic planning for the bank and market development, especially in the Rutherford County market where he has extensive experience and FNB now has a full-service branch and rapidly growing mortgage loan unit.

Fletcher assumes responsibility for day-to-day operations. He opened First National’s first loan office in Murfreesboro in 2007. Due to the success of that office, FNB opened the full-service branch on Gateway Boulevard last year.

Vincent joined the Murfreesboro branch of FNB in 2009 and has played a key role in its highly successful loan portfolio growth.

“I am pleased that we are able to announce these promotions. As the bank grows, it is important that we continue to cultivate employees that can move into increased areas of responsibilities,” Levoy Knowles, chairman of the FNB board of directors, said.

Knowles added, “In addition, as employees retire and move on, we must have and do have talented individuals to assume these responsibilities. I am grateful that we have a great group of dedicated employees that have the ability to assume these job duties.”

The list of promotions and new titles includes:

Tom Vance – Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Randall S. Fletcher – President

Michael A. Weeter – Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer

Pieter van Vuuren – Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and Chief Investment Officer

Cindy J. Swann – Senior Vice President, Branch Administrator, and Corporate Secretary

Nancy Locke – Senior Vice President, Human Resources Director, and Marketing Manager

Brent Foster –  Senior Vice President, Senior Loan Officer.

Stacy Vincent – Assistant Vice President and Loan Officer

Bank president since 2006, Vance welcomed his new role focusing on strategic planning and oversight of the bank’s market development.

“I am very excited about recent action taken by our Board to approve a number of key senior management changes at First National. My role will be changing to vice chairman and CEO while my trusted colleague, Randy Fletcher, will assume the position of bank president,” he said.

“Randy has certainly earned this promotion as his 30 plus years in banking as well as his extensive background in credit and lending makes him uniquely qualified to take over the daily management of our institution,” Vance added.

He also noted the board’s decisions in recognizing other talented personnel.

“In addition to recognizing Randy's abilities to lead our bank, the Board also made a number of strategic promotions in the persons of Pieter van Vuuren, Michael Weeter, Brent Foster, Cindy Swann, and Nancy Locke. Each of these talented banking senior officers will have vital roles in the leadership team of our financial institution. I am proud of all of them and look forward to overseeing the great jobs I know each one will do,” Vance said.

As vice chairman and CEO, Vance explained, “My focus will turn more to strategic planning, utilization of capital, oversight of our new mortgage and title operations, as well as business development in existing and emerging markets here in Middle Tennessee. I appreciate the confidence of our Board to make these management changes that should serve our shareholders well for years to come.”

Fletcher brings extensive banking expertise and experience to the position of president. He joined First National in 2007, opening the loan operation in Murfreesboro and growing it at exceptional levels.

“I am honored but humbled by the board's decision to name me president. I certainly appreciate Tom Vance and the board having the confidence in me to appoint me to the position. It is a sobering thought to be following a banker with the accomplishments to his record that Mr. Vance has,” Fletcher said.

He noted, “I'm enthusiastic about the challenge and look forward to getting to meet and know our customers here in Warren County. My wife, Ami, and I are very glad to be residents of McMinnville and are really enjoying our home located on historic Main Street.”
