City Construction Projects
Maney Avenue Street Improvement Project (between SE Broad Street and College Street)
Expected Road Closures: Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4:00 PM: Road construction work continues along Maney Avenue between EMain Street and E College Street. This section of the roadway will be partially closed. There will be utility construction work on E Main Street at Maney Avenue between 8:30 am and 2:30 pm. Traffic on E Main Street will be reduced to one lane through this intersection. Access drives to the local residents and businesses will be kept open at all times.Motorists are advised to use Highland Ave and Academy Street travelling north/south and State Street and Main Street travelling east/west. Work continues, minor traffic interruptions.
Veterans Pkwy (New section between Barfield Road/Kimbro Road and Barfield Crescent Road)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM: The traffic on Barfield Crescent Road has been shifted to the south side near Lone Oak Drive. Appropriate lane shiftsigns and pavements markings are in-place. Contractor has started road work on the north side. Barfield Church Road between Barfield Crescent Road and Barfield Road will be closed to through traffic. Access to local residents on Barfield Church Road will be kept open at all times. The construction of the bridge over Stones River continues. Paving work will begin Monday on the new section of Veterans Pkwy and the new bridge. Work continues, minor traffic interruptions.
MTSU Phase 3 Project (Intersection of Greenland Drive at Wiles Ct)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 2:00 PM: There will be minor lane closures on Greenland Drive at Wiles Court. Traffic signal and roadway work continues intermittently at the intersection.There will be minor traffic interruptions.Work continues, minor traffic interruptions.
Traffic Signal Work (Intersection of Rutherford Blvd and Gold Valley Drive)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4:00 PM: Traffic signal installing work continues intermittently at this location. There will be minor traffic interruptions and partial lane closures. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.
TDOT Intersection Improvement Project (Medical Center Pkwy between I-24 EB Off-Ramp and Asbury Lane)
Expected LaneClosures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM: The contractor for TDOT will be making on-ramp improvements and striping modifications on Medical Center Pkwy between I-24 EB Ramp and Asbury Lane. There will be alternate lane closures and traffic interruptions. One lane will remain open in each direction at all times.
Consolidated Utility District (CUD) Water Line Construction Project (County Farm Road between S Church Street and Joe B Jackson)
Expected LaneClosures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM: The contractor for CUD will be installing water lines pipes on Joe B Jackson between County Farm Roadand Stevens Bend Drive. This section of roadway will be partially closed. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained on Joe B Jackson during this work. Driveway access to local residents will be kept open at all times. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.Work continues, minor traffic interruptions.
Lytle Street Sewer Construction Project (Lytle Street between Church Street and Maple Street)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM: The contractor for the Water and Sewer Department will be laying sanitary sewer pipe on Lytle Street between Church Street and Maple Street. Lytle Street will be reduced to one lane with flagging operation between Church Street and Maple Street. Motorists are advised to use Burton Street and College Street. Northbound and Southbound traffic on Church Street and Maple Street will not be affected. Driveway access to local businesses will be kept open at all times. Work continues, minor traffic interruptions.
Murfreesboro Urban Environmental Landscape Project
ExpectedNO LaneClosures; Monday – Friday: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM: City Urban Environmental crews will be planting trees in the median on Old Fort Pkwy between New Salem Highway and Thompson Lane. No traffic interruptions.
TDOT Re-Paving Project (NW Broad Street between Thompson Lane and Mercury Blvd)
Expected LaneClosures: Monday - Thursday, 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM: The contractor for TDOT will be milling Broad Street between Mercury Blvd and W Main Street. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions.All work will be done at night.
Comcast Fiber Optic Project (College Street between Church Street and Maney Avenue)
Expected LaneClosures: Monday & Tuesday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM: The contractor for Comcast will be will be installing overhead fiber optic lines on College Street between Church Street and Maney Avenue. Traffic on College Street will be reduced to one lane with flagman direction traffic. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
Annual City Street Paving Project
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM: Citymilling, paving and casting crews will be working on the following streets and subdivisions: Expect lane shifts and traffic interruptions during these operations.
