The Linebaugh Public Library wraps-up its series on Jewish Songwriters Exhibit at Linebaugh from 7:00 to 9:00 o'clock Thursday evening, April 19th. The Oakland High School Chamber Choir, led by director John McDonald, will perform a selection of songs featured in the traveling exhibit: A Fine Romance: Jewish Songwriters, American Songs, 1910-1965.
Following their performance, Dr. Paul Fischer, professor in the Department of Recording Industry at MTSU, will focus on “Jews in the New Tin Pan Alley: Sounds of the Sixties.”
Branch Librarian Carol Ghattas said, “If you have not taken advantage of the special events for this exhibit, don’t miss this great finale. Being able to hear the music, hear about the writers and see the exhibit and displays provide a great sensory experience for all ages."
The exhbitit at Linebaugh Library has been a partnership with MTSU's Center for Popular Music, Rutherford County Schools and Friends of Linebaugh. “A Fine Romance: Jewish Songwriters, American Songs” will be on display until April 20, 2012.
