In Murfreesboro, Tennessee, many worthy organizations provide assistance to members of our community. Murfreesboro’s local Knights of Columbus council is hosting a special event in April to support several of these organizations and to provide financial support for individuals with physical disabilities.

On April 21, 2012, Knights of Columbus Marian Council 4563 in Murfreesboro will sponsor an Italian Food Fest. The event will be held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, located at 1601 North Tennessee Boulevard. Dinner will be served from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Ticket prices for the event are $10.00 for adults, $4.00 for children 4 to 11 years of age, and children under age four are free. Profits from the event and donations from attendees support the M.R. Foundation of Tennessee and the American Wheelchair Mission.

Local non-profits receiving financial support include Project HELP, Rutherford County Adult Activity Center, Special Olympics, and Special Kids.

The American Wheelchair Mission is a non-profit organization with a goal to deliver brand new, free wheelchairs and mobility aids to physically disabled children, teens and adults throughout the world who are without mobility or the means to acquire a wheelchair. The Mission changes the lives of entire families with the gifts of hope, dignity, freedom and independence. Locally, the Mission through the Knights of Columbus has provided wheelchairs to veterans at the York Veterans Administration Hospital.

“Our entire community is invited to come enjoy good food and fellowship on April 21st to assist these great organizations” said Billy Trout, Grand Knight, with the Knights of Columbus in Murfreesboro. “We see the impact our local non-profits have on the lives of families here in Murfreesboro.
