New DUI Bill Proposal

Apr 18, 2012 at 06:06 am by Bryan Barrett

There is a new proposal for a new law that would require those who are convicted of a DUI with a child in the car with them, serve any additional sentences consecutively with any sentence of driving while intoxicated. Under present law, there is only a minimum incarceration requirement of 30-days behind bars and a $1,000 fine. Now, that 30-day sentence (or longer) will have to be served in concession with the DUI sentence. The bill has already passed the House and the Senate. It is now up to the govern to sign.
