Both the possibility of moving the city’s election date, as well as dictating at large versus district representation were discussed at the April 19th meeting of the Murfreesboro City Council.

The decision to change the date was not approved at this time. In fact, reports that these issues would be placed on a referendum were also voted down 4-2. However, Councilman Toby Gilley did ask for information about a referendum dealing with the issue of district versus at large representation. Once again, no referendum on this issue has been approved at this time.

Congratulations

The Mayor congratulated Tuesday’s winners, as well as acknowledged Vice-Mayor Bratcher’s years of service.  Finally, the Water & Sewer Board revealed that they'll soon be working on some upgrades which will include allowing online payments using credit or debit cards, and a public hearing was scheduled to consider a PRD amendment for approximately 22.6 acres known as Seward Crossing located along Florence Road.  That hearing is scheduled for May 17th.
