You will soon have to prove you are actively looking for work to continue receiving unemployment benefits in Tennessee. According to the bill signed by Governor Bill Haslam, 1,000 Tennesseans on unemployment will be audited each month to ensure they are doing everything they can to seek work.

The state is also making it harder for those who are fired for chronic absenteeism, to collect benefits.
