The MTSU freshman accused of stabbing her roommate to death last year, claims she did so in self defense. 19-Year old Shanterrica Madden is facing a first degree murder charge after allegedly killing MTSU basketball standout Tina Stewart.  Prior to the stabbing, Stewart reportedly complained to apartment management about her roommate allegedly smoking marijuana in the apartment. After the murder, Stewart’s boyfriend KC Anuna found her body in the apartment and dialed 9-1-1.

District Attorney J. Paul Newman told the courts the murder was pre-meditated. The trial continues.
