The Murfreesboro Police Department Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT) is currently investigating a fatal vehicle crash that occurred Saturday morning at 2:35 a.m. on I-24 (West) and Medical Center Parkway (Exit 76).

 

After a preliminary investigation, crash reconstruction experts believe a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling West on I-24 and attempted to exit on the ramp for Medical Center Parkway (Exit 76). As the driver attempted to exit the interstate, his motorcycle struck the end of the guardrail, causing the motorcycle to continue out of control. The driver and motorcycle struck a concrete wall causing a fatal injury to the driver. The helmet the driver was wearing did not appear to be Department of Transportation (DOT) approved and alcohol may be a factor in this crash.

 

The name of the driver is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The crash remains under investigation by FACT investigators.
