Two serious residential fires occured Monday afternoon (5/21/2012) in Rutherford County. Around 2:00 o'clock a modular home in Christiana caught on fire. When volunteer firefighters arrived, the structure was fully engulfed in flames. The Daniel Road family of two adults and 5 children are now homeless. The Heart of Tennessee Chapter of the American Red Cross is helping the family with their immediate needs. 

Another fire occured in the early evening at Northfield Lodge Apartment at 303 East Northfield Boulevard. Firefighters rescued a 16-year old female who was trapped in an upstair unit. (details on that fire in a separate story)
