MFRD’s District 8 arrived on scene at Northfield Lodge Apartments located at 603 E Northfield Boulevard. Heavy smoke and flames were coming from the second floor stairwell window of Building F. District 8’s crew discovered the 16 year old female at the second floor window. Fire suppression crews initiated rescue and removed the female from the fire with use of a ground ladder. Following the successful rescue, the crew of Rescue 8 made entry into the stairwell and quickly extinguished the fire. The crew was able to contain the fire to four of the eight units in Building F.

The rescued female was transported to Middle Tennessee Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Families from seven of the eight units in Building F were displaced. The American Red Cross was available for assistance.

The Fire Marshal’s Office was called to conduct an investigation into the cause of the fire. The cause is yet to be determined. Anyone with information regarding this fire is urged to contact the Fire Marshal’s Office at 615-893-1422.
