Thanks to alert citizens, Murfreesboro Police arrested 22-year old Joe Martin Jackson in connection with a 9:00 o'clock Wednesday (5/23/2012) morning robbery at MAPCO on Memorial Boulevard. Officers responded to a report of a strong armed type robbery around 9:00 o'clock in the morning at the 1415 Memorial Boulevard location.
Several customers and employees of nearby businesses provided responding officers with detailed descriptions and a direction the suspect traveled. The Criminal Investigation Division later received information concerning who the suspect was and that the suspect was at his 1414 Poplar Avenue apartment.
Detectives Doug Arrington and Tommy Massey located the suspect, Joe Martin Jackson at the apartment. Evidence from the robbery was recovered from his residence.
After being interviewed by detectives, Jackson agreed to cooperate with investigators and provided details about the robbery. He was transported to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center where he was booked on one count of robbery.
