Hit and Run of Bicyclist Early Saturday Morning

Jun 16, 2012 at 10:34 pm by Bryan Barrett

Murfreesboro Police are asking the public for any information concerning an early Saturday (6/16/2012) hit and run involving a bicyclist on South Rutherford and Mercury Boulevard.

Reports indicate that shortly after midnight, two motorists saw the man riding through the intersection and being hit by a car. The witnesses were involved in another accident and were talking when the hit and run occurred.

It's pretty dark at that large intersection between MTSU and Wal-Mart, and the witnesses were not able to furnish officers with a clear description of the vehicle. However, traffic cameras are focused on the intersection and police hope to have a clear photo of the crime scene.

In the meantime, 22-year old Donald Faulkner of Lewisburg was flown LifeFlight helicopter to the Vanderbilt Trauma Center. Officials say that he is in stable condition.

If you have any information, it could be worth up to $1,000 cash. Phone CrimeStopper at 893-STOP (7867). The police will never know your identity, and you will receive the money if your tip leads to an arrest and conviction.
