Rutherford County Sheriff Robert Arnold was elected to the National Sheriff’s Association Board of Directors during the annual conference this week in Nashville .

            NSA raises the level of professionalism among sheriff’s and their deputies so they may perform their jobs in the best possible manner and better serve their residents.

            “It’s a great honor for me and our county to be chosen by my fellow sheriffs,” Sheriff Arnold said. “This honor puts Rutherford County and the community in the forefront nationwide.”

On the board, Sheriff Arnold hopes to work with the technology committee and bring cutting edge ideas back to Rutherford County . He believes the enhanced technology information will allow the sheriff’s office employees to better combat crime, improve criminal intelligence and provide timely crime mapping.

Serving on the board will expand the sheriff’s network to other sheriffs throughout the nation.

“I’m looking forward to working with other sheriffs,” Sheriff Arnold said.

Sheriff Arnold was elected sheriff in August 2010. He recently completed the National Sheriff’s Institute training sponsored by NSA and the National Institute of Corrections.
